Unshackling Europe's single market; defending Schengen's open borders

At a European Parliament hearing, MEPs joined with businesses and consumers to support legislation calling for concrete actions to boost Europe's Single Market. Among the measures are a common e-commerce VAT, facilitating cross-border trade and protecting consumers from cross-border discrimination. MEPs also voiced concern that despite the migrant crisis, the Schengen Agreement, which provides open internal borders, must be preserved to maintain the free flow of people, goods and services.
