EPP Group backs new rules for green investments
Sustainable investments are those ones that are trying to combat climate change, preserve biodiversity or increase the circular economy. As an example, solar energy, energy efficiency in buildings are green investments.
Now we have a common definitions and measurements on the issue of what is green. And that gives certainty for investors and of course for the consumers that there is no greenwashing, that green investments really is something that improves the environment and enhances natural capital.
Commonly agreed indicators to say, ok, this is detrimental and bad for the environment and this is good for the environment. Now we are step by step delivering that information for institutions and private investors. And then it is up to them and they can choose how green, how constructive and future-oriented investments they want to make and then also offer to the retail investors, consumers like you and me.
