European Institutions discuss on a new data protection law to increase users' rights

Interview with Axel Voss, MEP, Member of the Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs Committee of the EP shadow rapporteur of 'The General Data Protection Regulation'.

"It is very important that we have the same rights across the EU, so that the consumer or individual can rely on these rights that they have in their countries. And Therefore its always very important to build trust especially in the online world. So we can be sure that everyone will use the internet and also we can build up on growth in the internet and also on creativity. But we have to have the balance situation between the individual and economic participants, so that we will have at least balance situation: strong rights for the individuals but possibilities for the companies."
